Quinceañera

La Quinceañera es una celebración tradicional de la vida y de agradecimiento a Dios cuando una joven Hispana cumple 15 años.  Este ritual enfatiza la transición en que la joven deja de ser niña para ser mujer.  Usualmente, la familia pide una bendición en la iglesia.
 La celebración en San Cirilo de Alejandria de Acción de Gracias o Quince Años, tiene como motivo principal que la Quinceañera entienda y renueve su compromiso Bautismal.
 

REQUISITOS BÁSICOS (como se encuentran en el folleto informativo):
1. Que la señorita esté bautizada católica.
2. La quinceañera debe inscribirse y asistir a clases de formación en la fe. Para una Celebración con Liturgia      de la Palabra, se requiere inscripción y participación por 1 año. Para una Celebración con Misa, se requiere      un año de inscripción y participación. 
3. Tiene que consultar las fechas con la Coordinadora de Quinceañeras.
4. Comprar un anillo especial con una cruz. (A discutir con la Coordinadora de Quinceañeras)

The Quinceañera is a traditional celebration of life and gratitude to God on the occasion of the fifteenth birthday of a young Hispanic woman.  The ritual emphasizes her passage from childhood to adulthood.
 The family usually requests a blessing to be held in the Church. 
At St. Cyril of Alexandria, the intention of having a celebration of the 15th Birthday in the church is so the young lady comes to understand and renew her Baptismal commitment.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS (as found in the informational brochure):
1. That the young lady is baptized catholic.
2. The young lady must enroll in and attend Faith Formation classes. For a Celebration with a Liturgy of the         Word, enrollment and participation for 1 year is required. For a Celebration with a Mass, enrollment and          participation for 2 years is required.
3. Dates must first be consulted and confirmed with the Coordinator of Quinceañeras.
4. Special cross ring. (To be discussed with the Coordinator of Quinceañeras)
